Enamelling for Beginners with Julie Patton

image9

Coming soon...

Enamelling is the art of fusing glass to metal by firing it in a kiln. This workshop is a great introduction to enamelling as students will learn the steps to prepare copper for enamelling and learn different decorating techniques such as sifting, stencil work, embedding decorative media and sgraffito.

You will have a choice of different copper shapes and be able to produce a small picture or a piece of jewellery, which you will be able to take home on the day. This will lead on to more advanced courses.

Julie says " Enamelling is a favourite technique to do. There’s a little bit of magic to it, a little mad scientist, turning “powder” into glass, and as with all science, there’s always more experimenting and exploring to be done"

What's included in the £45 price?

All tools and materials are included, plus tea and coffee. 3 hours
